Elvira C. Klug, 85, of Cedar Grove passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 as a result of an automobile accident.
Elvira was born on September 7, 1931 in Cedar Grove to Erwin and Delia (Navis) Prinsen. She was a graduate of Cedar Grove High School and went on to receive her Masters Degree in Education. Elvira married LeRoy Broetzmann on June 25, 1955 at First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove. They had three children together. He preceded her in death on October 6, 1992. On March 31, 1996 she married Harold Klug, he preceded her in death on May 18, 2011. Elvira was an elementary school teacher for over 40 years.
Elvira was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Random Lake, where she was a Sunday School teacher, member of the church council and active with the quilting club. She was a lifetime member of the Teachers Association. Elvira enjoyed playing cards, knitting, needlepoint, fishing and family vacations up north.
Elvira is survived by one daughter, Lori (Ralph) Miller of Random Lake; two sons, Jeffrey (Mary) Broetzmann of Cedar Grove and James Broetzmann of Mt. Pleasant; five grandchildren, Nicholas (special friend Courtney) Broetzmann, Robert (Katie) Broetzmann, James Miller, Brittany Miller and Jacob (special friend Maddy) Miller; one great grandson, Sawyer Broetzmann; one step-daughter, Kathy (Dave) Kruis; three step-sons, John (Rosemary) Klug, Harold Klug Jr., and David (Peggy) Klug; one brother, Roger (Carol) Prinsen; four sisters-in-law, Carol (Bob) Navis, Gladys Hartmann, Lorraine Broetzmann and Marlene Broetzmann. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Elvira was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, LeRoy Broetzmann and Harold Klug; son-in-law, Jim Theis; infant granddaughter, Jamie Theis; one sister, Arlene Soerens and one brother, Ernest Prinsen.
A funeral service to celebrate Elvira’s life will be held on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at 4pm at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Random Lake with Rev. Dale Erickson officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery.
Relatives and friends may greet the family on Sunday, March 5, 2017 at the church from 1pm until the time of service at 4pm.
A memorial fund is being established for St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Elvira’s name.
