Who writes the Obituary?
Once all of the necessary information has been gathered we will compose a rough draft of the obituary for you. Your family is encouraged to make any changes, corrections, or additions to finalize the obituary. Our funeral home takes pride in our efforts to personalize each obituary according to the wishes of your family.
What Is An Obituary?
More than merely a 'good-bye' to the deceased, this is a farewell which can, in chronological order, detail the life your loved one. An obituary also serves as notification that an individual has died and details of the services that are to take place.
What To Include?
Most families choose to place a photograph. This photograph may be a formal portrait or a casual snapshot. If others are also in the picture, then our staff can easily crop or make necessary adjustments that will allow the picture to be newspaper suitable.
After the obituary has been approved by your family and the funeral director, we will submit the obituary to the any newspapers of your choosing within the continental United States.
Final Considerations
Most newspapers charge according to the length of the obituary. They will bill the the funeral home, then in turn, the appropriate charges will appear on your final billing statement.
