Karl Edward Kolb, 85, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Friday, December 30, 2016 at Aurora Memorial Medical Center in Sheboygan after a lingering illness.
Karl was born on May 11, 1931 in Sheboygan to Alex and Nola (Wick) Kolb. He was a 1949 graduate of Sheboygan Falls High. He served his country in the United States Air Force from 1951-1955 during the Korean War. On June 29, 1957 he married Gladys Fuhrmann at St. Joseph Catholic Church in St. Joe (St. Cloud), WI. They celebrated 59 years of marriage in 2016. Karl worked at the Kohler Company in the Brass Division for 43 years. He retired in 1993 at 62 years old.
Karl was a member of Blessed Trinity Parish. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing sheepshead with family and friends. He was a great bowler in the Kohler bowling league for many years. He also enjoyed listening to Dixieland and big band music.
Karl is survived by his wife of 59 years, Gladys; his children, William ‘Bill” (Ann Marie Linn); Mary (Mark Wilke), Christopher “Chris”, Robert “Bob” all of Sheboygan Falls and Debra (James) Chvarak of Sheboygan; three grandchildren, Sarah (Andrew) Stoffel of Menomonee Falls, Shelly Kolb of Sheboygan Falls and Hunter Chvarak of Sheboygan; one great grandchild, Hailie; one brother, David (Darlene) Kolb of Sheboygan; one sister, Karen Glickauf of Glenview, IL; and two sisters-in-law, Dian Fuhrmann of Kohler and Patricia (Peter) Sesing of Barrington, IL. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his in-laws, Ervin and Louise Fuhrmann; and three brothers-in-law, Jerome Fuhrmann and Roger (Gloria) Fuhrmann and Daniel Glickauf.
A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Karl’s life will be held on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at 1pm at Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls with Rev. Bob Lotz officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery in Sheboygan Falls.
Relatives and friends may greet the family on Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at the church from 10am until the time of mass at 1pm.
A memorial fund is being established in Karl’s name.
