Obituary for Jon Michael Kennedy

Jon Michael Kennedy
Jon M. Kennedy, 68, of Sheboygan Falls, passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2016, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Jon was born on May 28, 1947, in Sheboygan, son of Francis and Margaret (Hodge) Kennedy. He was a 1966 graduate of Sheboygan Falls High School. On April 12, 1969, he married SueAnn Huibregtse in Sheboygan Falls. In 1965, because of his love of cars, Jon began working at B & B Ford, and then became an owner in 1974. He enjoyed 43 years there, until his retirement in 2008. Jon was always thankful for his business partnership and friendship with Tom Scribner.
Jon was a member of Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls, where he and SueAnn renewed their wedding vows for their 46th anniversary. He was a strong advocate of supporting local community, which included being an original board member of Chamber Main Street and a United Way Fund volunteer. Jon enjoyed his work, cars, yardwork, Sheboygan Falls history, traveling, fishing, snowmobiling, family history, visiting with family and friends, reading the paper and watching wildlife from the porch, and his frequent visits to Daydreams Café. You would often see him driving around town in his brown 1928 Model A. He adored his grandchildren and loved to spoil them.
Jon is survived by his wife of 47 years, SueAnn; his daughter, Lisa Kennedy of Sheboygan Falls; his son, Michael (Lori) Kennedy of Sheboygan Falls; six grandchildren, Kathryn, Hayden, Jon Michael, Taylor, Elle, and Addison; two sisters, Jayne (Tom) Lorenz of Sheboygan Falls and Julie Kennedy of Frederick, MD; one brother, James (Linda) Kennedy of Weatherby Lake, MO; five brothers-in-law, John (Chris) Huibregtse of Woodruff, WI, Gregg (Sandy), Dan (Marylen), Scott (Cindy), Tom (Pam) Meddaugh; and two sisters-in-law, Tammy Beaudin and Missy (Pat) McHugh. Jon is further survived by his aunt, Betty “Aunt B” Hodge of Sheboygan Falls, and several nieces and nephews.
Jon was preceded in death by his parents, and his parents-in-law, Harold and Rosemary Huibregtse.
A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Jon’s life will be held at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at Blessed Trinity Parish in Sheboygan Falls with Rev. Bob Lotz officiating. Burial will take place at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery in Sheboygan Falls.
Relatives and friends may gather at the church on Tuesday from 3:00 pm until the time of Mass at 7:00 pm.
A memorial fund has been established in Jon’s name for the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice, the Sheboygan County Historical Society, and Sheboygan Falls Chamber Main Street.
Jon’s family would like to extend their appreciation to Dr. Charles Schleevogt and Dr. S. Mark Bettag, to the staffs of Froedtert Memorial Hospital, Atrium Post Acute Care of Plymouth, and the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice.
