Obituary for Leslie "Les" C. Cole

Leslie "Les" C.  Cole
Leslie C. Cole, 101, of Cedar Grove died on Tuesday morning, September 1, 2015 at Pine Haven Christian Home in Sheboygan Falls.
Les was born on March 7, 1914 in Cedar Grove, the son of the late Martin and Annie (Voskuil) Cole. He attended Southside School and the Wisconsin Memorial Academy in Cedar Grove. He married Evelyn DePagter on June 17, 1938 in Cedar Grove. Evelyn preceded him in death on October 15, 1997 following 59 years of marriage. Les worked as a maintenance man for Musebeck Shoe Factory in Cedar Grove for many years prior to his retirement. He was also a mink rancher and farmer in the Town of Holland.
Les was a member of the First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove. He enjoyed fishing, yardwork, reading and spending winters in Florida.
Les is survived by one sister, Margaret Stewart of Florida; and by nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn; his only daughter, Shirley Cole who died in 1958, two brothers, Stanley (Meta) Cole and Wallace (Phyllis) Cole.
A funeral to celebrate Les’ life will take place at the First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove on Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 11 am with the Rev. Kent Vant Hul officiating. Burial will take place at the Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Friends and family will gather at the First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove on Saturday from 10 am until the time of the service at 11 am.

A memorial fund is being established in Les’ name for the Sheboygan County Cancer Care Fund.
The staff of the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg (920-564-2771) is serving the Cole family.
