Robert "Bob" Dale  Claerbaut
Robert Dale Claerbaut “Bob”, 77, of Oostburg passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at his home with his family by his side.
Bob was born on July 5, 1937 in the town of Holland to Roland and Marion (Heinen) Claerbaut. He is a 1956 graduate of Cedar Grove High School. On November 26, 1960 at 1st Reformed Church in Oostburg he married Audrey Huenink. Bob owned and operated Claerbaut Excavating until his retirement in 2006. He took great pride in his business which was his life.
Bob was a member of Calvary OPC in Cedar Grove where he served as a Deacon, Trustee, and Usher. He enjoyed listening to music, especially gospel and polka. Bob was a wonderful husband and a loving father and grandfather. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Audrey; one daughter, Karen Claerbaut of Sheboygan; two sons, Kevin (Lauri) Claerbaut of Waldo and Curtis (Valerie) Claerbaut of Oostburg; four grandchildren, Callie, Benjamin, Ethan, and Javier; one sister, Marjorie (Ronald) Bruggink; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Wayne Huenink, Philip (Linda) Huenink, Carol (Tony) Kaat, and Daniel (Nancy) Huenink. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his father and mother-in-law, Hilbert and Clara Huenink, and his sister and brother-in-law, Muriel and LaMont TenHaken.
A funeral service to celebrate Bob’s life will be on Friday, March 6, 2015 at 10:30am at Calvary OPC in Cedar Grove with Rev. Gordon Oliver officiating. Burial will be in Oostburg Cemetery.
Relatives and friends may gather on Thursday, March 5, 2015 from 4-7pm at the Wenig Funeral Home in Oostburg and again on Friday, March 6, 2015 at CHURCH from 9:30am until the time of service at 10:30am.
A memorial fund is being established in Bob’s name.
